W połowie lat 90. 3/5 składu Anti-System (Mark Teale, Phil Dean i Mick Teale), który nagrał klasyczny album „No Laughing Matter”, połączyło siły z Paulem Stone’em (świeżo po jego pracy w NAILBOMB UK) i starało się stworzyć coś nowego dla siebie.

MINDFIELD to zespół, który zbudował się na poważnych pomysłach połączenia swoich kolektywnych wpływów i stworzenia czegoś nowego, szalonego. Do swojego miksera riffów wrzucali Discharge, Antisect, Slayer, New York Hardcore, Ministry, LARD, a nawet Hawkwind, a efekty były naprawdę wyjątkowe.

W tamtym czasie byli bardzo zainteresowani ze strony kilku porządnych wytwórni i mieli wsparcie takich osób jak Ian Glasper, który udzielił świetnego, dwustronicowego wywiadu o zespole w magazynie Terrorizer – ale z powodu okoliczności, jak to bywa w takich przypadkach, wszystko się posypało.

Te nagrania stanowią jedyne materiały nagrane przez członków ANTI SYSTEM pomiędzy tymi dwoma okresami istnienia zespołu i wspaniale jest udostępnić te trzy oryginalne nagrania demo po raz pierwszy w sprzedaży komercyjnej w ramach serii Boss Tuneage Retro Series, a wszystkie utwory zostały zremasterowane na potrzeby tego wydania.

The missing link between ANTI SYSTEMs classic final ’80s recordings and the comeback „AT WHAT PRICE IS FREEDOM” EP we released in 2017 – the collected recordings of MINDFIELD from 1994-95, available commercially for the first time ever!!

In the mid 90’s 3/5ths of the Anti-System line up (Mark Teale, Phil Dean and Mick Teale), that recorded the classic No Laughing Matter LP teamed up with Paul Stone (fresh from his time in NAILBOMB UK) and were busy trying to forge something new for themselves.

MINDFIELD was a band built on some serious ideas of merging their collective influences and creating something new and raging. They were throwing Discharge, Antisect, Slayer, New York Hardcore, Ministry, LARD and even Hawkwind into their riff blender and the results were pretty special.

They had serious interest at the time from some decent labels and the support of people like Ian Glasper who wrote a great 2 page interview in Terrorizer on the band – but the wheels fell off due to circumstances as these things do.

These recordings represent the only things recorded by the ANTI SYSTEM members between those two eras of the band, and its great to make these original three demo recordings available for the first time commercially as part of the Boss Tuneage Retro Series, with all tracks being remastered for this release.
