Album „The House That Man Built” został pierwotnie nagrany i zmiksowany w Southern Studios w północnym Londynie w 1981 roku, a wydany w 1982 roku przez CRASS Records. Zrealizowany przez Johna Lodera pod czujnym okiem Penny Rimbaud z Crass (wraz z Elvisem Rimrodem!)

Conflict nie tracił czasu, dając wyraz swoim intencjom już w pierwszym utworze. „Conflict” ożył ostrym jak drut gitarowym uderzeniem, a Jerwood ryknął „CONFLICT!”, gdy zespół nabrał rozpędu.
Pierwotne, proste i surowe jak cholera, te wczesne utwory Conflict to brzmienie zespołu poznającego swoje instrumenty i rozkoszującego się swobodą i ekspresją brzmienia. Penny i John wykonali fantastyczną robotę, wykorzystując młodzieńczą energię Conflict, a singiel natychmiast stał się hitem wśród rozkwitającego ruchu anarcho-punkowego.

Kilka lat temu, po śmierci Johna Lodera, oryginalne nagrania wielościeżkowe powróciły do ​​zespołu. Colin i Gav King (gitarzysta Conflict z ostatnich 18 lat) wysłali taśmy do „wypalenia” i digitalizacji z zamiarem ich zremiksowania po ukończeniu i wydaniu nowego albumu.

Niestety Colin zmarł, zanim to nastąpiło, ale Gav King kontynuował pracę nad remiksowaniem utworów nagranych 45 lat wcześniej.

W pudełku znajdowały się oryginalne miksy na taśmie ¼ cala, więc wieloletni przyjaciel Colina, Sid Truelove (Rubella Ballet), zgodził się je zremasterować.

The House That Man Built was originally recorded and mixed at Southern Studios, North London in 1981 and released in 1982 on CRASS Records. Engineered by John Loder under the watchful eye of Crass’ Penny Rimbaud (credited as Elvis Rimrod!)

Conflict wasted no time stating their intent as the opening song, ‘Conflict’ charged into life with a razor wire guitar strike with Jerwood bellowing ‘CONFLICT!’ as the band revved into life.
Primal basic and raw as fuck, these early Conflict tracks are the sound of the band getting to know their instruments, revelling in the freedom and expression of their sound. Penny and John did a fantastic job in harnessing Conflict’s youthful energy and the single was an instant hit amongst the flourishing anarcho-punk movement.

A few years ago following the passing of John Loder, the original multi track tapes were returned to the band. Colin and Gav King (Conflict guitarist of the past 18 years) sent the tapes off to be ‘baked’ and digitised with the intent of remixing them once their new album was complete and released.

Unfortunately Colin passed away before that could happen but Gav King continued with the task of remixing the tracks that were recorded 45 years earlier.

Included in the box were the original mixes on ¼inch tape so Colin’s lifelong close mate, Sid Truelove (Rubella Ballet), agreed to remaster them.

Side A/This Side has the original 4 tracks fully remixed and mastered by Gav King.
Side B/That Side has the 4 tracks remastered by Sid Truelove.
Includes original ‘Disarm or Die’ sticker.
