Kolejne nieustępliwe bicie piany od No Statik, tym razem w formie krótkiego, siedmiościeżkowego LP. Jeśli słyszeliście 7″ z Iron Lung, to ten „un” nie powinien być wielkim zaskoczeniem. Zespół wciąż serwuje potężne dawki zajebiście szybkiej, hardcore’owej furii, nawiązując do Negative Approach, a jednocześnie (w pewnym sensie) unowocześniając album, dodając do niego współczesną wrogość zespołów takich jak .Nema, Ottawa czy Stations. Moim zdaniem, niewiele jest lepszych utworów niż otwierający „When We Wake” dzięki jego zgrabnym, dynamicznym zwrotom akcji, ale innych, rozdzierających płuca hitów też nie można ignorować. Płyta kończy się tym samym dziwnym akcentem, co wspomniana wcześniej 7″ (czyli rozszerzoną wersją bardziej eksperymentalnego „We All Die In The End”), co jest niemal ulgą po początkowym zmiażdżeniu, jakie przeszedłeś, i choć sama w sobie jest fajna, nadaje jej nieco asymetrycznego charakteru. To jednak dobry, brutalny album i z pewnością jestem ciekaw, czy uda im się przeciągnąć ten dziwaczniejszy akcent przez bardziej bezpośrednie momenty.

More relentless hammering from No Statik, this time in the shape of a brief seven-track LP. If you heard the 7″ on Iron Lung then this ‘un shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, the band continuing to dole out immense blasts of fast-as-fuck hardcore fury that reference the likes of Negative Approach while bringing things (kinda) up to date by dosing them with the latterday hostility of bands like .Nema, Ottawa or Stations. For my money things don’t get much better than opening track ‘When We Wake’ thanks to its neat dynamic twists, but the other lung-shredding belters can’t really be sniffed at either. It closes on the same odd note as that aforementioned 7″ (i.e. with an extended version of the more experimental ‘We All Die In The End’) which is almost a relief after the initial battering you’ve been through, and while cool in itself it does lend things a slightly lopsided feel. A good, brutal record, though, and I’ll definitely be interested to see whether they end up threading this weirder edge through their more straight-up moments.
