R.I.P. to zbiór najwcześniejszych nagrań Final Conflict, jednego z kluczowych zespołów sceny hardcore z Minneapolis. Nagrany w latach 1982/83 materiał ukazuje zespół w jego najbardziej surowej i szalonej formie, przed wydaniem klasycznego EP-ki „In the Family”. 24 utwory szybkiego, agresywnego i bezkompromisowego hardcore’u, napędzanego ostrymi jak brzytwa gitarami, szalonymi rytmami i surową energią wczesnej sceny hardcore z Minneapolis.
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Final Conflict were one of those hardcore bands that understood that speed, rage, and attitude could convey far more than any carefully crafted speech.
Following in the footsteps of early Hüsker Dü—an inevitable touchstone of the Minneapolis hardcore scene—Final Conflict tear through musical ideas as if there was no tomorrow. Razor-sharp guitars, frenetic rhythms, and boundless energy turn every song into a brief, violent burst of rebellion, leaving barely a moment to catch one’s breath.
This material predates their “In the Family” EP, released by Reflex Records in 1983, and captures the band during that raw, visceral era when hardcore was still defining itself. These songs have no use for embellishments or elaborate arrangements: they hit hard, and vanish before you can fully process what just happened.
Yet amidst all that destruction, there is also room for humor and irony, as evidenced by little gems like „Middle Class Americans!” Twenty-four tracks of pure urgency and defiance from Minneapolis, reminding us why hardcore was always, first and foremost, a matter of attitude.
