ADOLESCENTS to jeden z najpopularniejszych amerykańskich zespołów punkowych. Zespół powstał w 1979 roku w Fullerton w Kalifornii, a jego założycielami byli Steve Soto (niech spoczywa w pokoju) – basista oryginalnego zespołu AGENT ORANGE – oraz wokalista Tony Reflex. W międzyczasie zrekrutowali braci Agnew z SOCIAL DISTORTION i w 1981 roku wydali debiutancki album zatytułowany „Adolescents”, który stał się jednym z najbardziej wpływowych albumów punkrockowych w historii południowej Kalifornii. Obok BAD BRAINS, BLACK FLAG i MINOR THREAT, są jednym z czołowych zespołów sceny hardcore/skate punk lat 80.
Pierwszy skład rozpadł się pod koniec 1981 roku, ale zespół powrócił w 1986 roku z nowym perkusistą i nowym albumem „Brats in Batallions”. Reflex odszedł w 1988 roku, a zespół wydał jeszcze jeden album „Balboa Funzone”, zanim rozpadł się w 1989 roku. Zespół ponownie zjednoczył się w 2001 roku na trasie z okazji 20. rocznicy i od tamtej pory kontynuuje działalność. Po kilku zmianach w składzie Soto i Reflex zabrali ADOLESCENTS w podróż po Stanach Zjednoczonych, Europie, Japonii i Ameryce Południowej, a w 2005 roku wydali swój pierwszy album studyjny od 17 lat, „OC Confidential”.

Przez te wszystkie lata zespół wywarł wpływ na wiele współczesnych grup punkowych, w tym BAD RELIGION, NOFX, FACE TO FACE, GOOD RIDDANCE, THE OFFSPRING, PENNYWISE, RISE AGAINST, SLAYER i FU MANCHU. Pierwszym albumem wydanym przez Concrete Jungle Records był „The Fastest Kid Alive”, który w tym roku obchodzi 10-lecie i dlatego został wznowiony na winylu. Po raz pierwszy na 180-gramowym winylu w dwóch kolorach – w ścisłym limitowanym nakładzie 500 egzemplarzy!

ADOLESCENTS are one of America’s most popular punk bands. They were formed by original AGENT ORANGE bassist Steve Soto (R.I.P.) and singer Tony Reflex in 1979 in Fullerton, California. Along the way they recruited the Agnew brothers from SOCIAL DISTORTION and in 1981 released their self titled debut album “Adolescents“ which would become one of the most influential Southern California punk rock albums of all time. Along with BAD BRAINS, BLACK FLAG and MINOR THREAT they are one of the leading bands of the 1980s hardcore / skate punk scene.
The first line up disbanded in late 81 but the band returned in 1986 with a new drummer and a new record “Brats in Batallions” Reflex left in 1988 and the band released one more record “Balboa Funzone” before disbanding in 1989 The band once again reunited in 2001 for a 20th anniversary tour and have continued performing ever since. With a few line up changes Soto and Reflex have taken the ADOLESCENTS across the US, Europe, Japan and South America and they released OC Confidential, their first studio album in 17 years in 2005.
Over all those years the band has influenced many of today‘s later punk groups, including BAD RELIGION, NOFX, FACE TO FACE, GOOD RIDDANCE, THE OFFSPRING, PENNYWISE, RISE AGAINST, SLAYER and FU MANCHU. The first album released on Concrete Jungle Records was „The Fastest Kid Alive”, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and has therefore been reissued on vinyl. For the first time on 180g vinyl with two different vinyl colors – strictly limited to a total of 500 copies!
