Od 1994 roku AUTHORITY ZERO prezentuje szerokiej publiczności swoją unikalną mieszankę hymnicznego, melodyjnego punka i reggae. Wiele zmieniło się w ciągu ponad 20 lat od powstania zespołu, ale zawsze znajdowali sposób na przetrwanie i rozwój w dzisiejszym, dynamicznie zmieniającym się świecie muzycznym. „To była długa droga”, mówi Jason DeVore (wokalista i autor tekstów). Zespół powstał w Mesa w Arizonie z inicjatywy grupy przyjaciół z liceum, którzy mieli ogromne ambicje, ale nie mieli wielkich oczekiwań co do przyszłości projektu.
Wraz z wydaniem debiutanckiego albumu „A Passage in Time” (2002, Lava Records) kariera zespołu nabrała tempa i szybko znaleźli się w trasie, intensywnie koncertując z takimi artystami jak PENNYWISE, SUM 41, FLOGGING MOLLY i wieloma innymi. W ostatnich latach AUTHORITY ZERO zyskało międzynarodowe uznanie, grając na europejskich festiwalach, a także w Australii, Rosji i Japonii. Wydali łącznie sześć pełnowymiarowych albumów studyjnych, z których wiele znalazło się na listach przebojów Billboardu, a ich muzyka była wykorzystywana w licznych grach wideo, programach telewizyjnych i ścieżkach dźwiękowych do filmów. Licznym sukcesom zespołu towarzyszyły pewne trudności, w tym szereg zmian w składzie, rozczarowania w branży muzycznej, a także kradzież vana, przyczepy i sprzętu podczas trasy koncertowej w Teksasie. Po 24 latach od powstania zespołu, przyszłość AUTHORITY ZERO, w którego skład wchodzą wokalista Jason DeVore, basista Mike Spero, gitarzysta Dan Aid i perkusista Chris Dalley, pozostaje świetlana jak nigdy dotąd. W czerwcu 2018 roku panowie wrócili do pracy w legendarnym studiu Fort Collins „The Blasting Room” (RISE AGAINST, DESCENDENTS, NOFX), aby nagrać swój siódmy album „Persona Non Grata” z producentem i kultowym perkusistą punkowym, Billem Stevensonem (BLACK FLAG, DESCENDENTS, ALL).
„Proces nagrywania naszego nowego albumu „Persona Non Grata” był po prostu niesamowity. Muzyka i teksty połączyły się w tak naturalny sposób w tak krótkim czasie, biorąc pod uwagę, że nasza ostatnia płyta „Broadcasting To The Nations” ukazała się zaledwie rok temu. Mike, Dan, Chris i ja włożyliśmy w to całe serce i wszyscy jesteśmy niezmiernie dumni z pracy, którą udało nam się wykonać jako kolektyw. Muzyka i brzmienie to klasyka AUTHORITY ZERO, ale z nieco zmienionym podejściem. Zarówno dla fanów, jak i dla siebie, staramy się nadać każdej płycie indywidualny charakter i życie” – powiedział DeVore.

Since ’94 AUTHORITY ZERO has brought their unique blend of anthemic melodic-punk and reggae to the masses. A lot has changed in the 20 plus years since the band’s inception but they have always found a way to persist and thrive in todays ever-changing music landscape. “It’s been a long trek”, says Jason DeVore (singer/songwriter). The band was formed in Mesa, Arizona by a group of high school friends with ample ambition but no lofty expectations of what the project could become.
With the release of their debut album „A Passage in Time“ (2002, Lava Records), the band’s career gained momentum and they quickly found themselves on the road, touring extensively with acts such as PENNYWISE, SUM 41, FLOGGING MOLLY and many more. In recent years AUTHORITY ZERO has gained international acclaim, spending time on the European festival circuit as well as stints in Australia, Russia, Japan. They have released a total of six full length studio albums, many holding spots on Billboard’s Chart and their music has been featured in numerous video games, tv shows, and movie soundtracks. The band’s many successes have been accompanied by a few bumps in the road including a slew of line-up changes, music industry letdowns, as well as having their van, trailer and equipment stolen while on tour in Texas. The secret to their longevity is simple; keep it pure and believe in your music.
Now, 24 years since the band’s inception, the future remains as bright as ever for AUTHORITY ZERO, consisting of singer Jason DeVore, bassist Mike Spero, guitarist Dan Aid and drummer Chris Dalley. In June of 2018, the guys got back to work at legendary Fort Collins studio „The Blasting Room“ (RISE AGAINST, DESCENDENTS, NOFX) to record their seventh full length album „Persona Non Grata“ with producer and iconic punk drummer, Bill Stevenson (BLACK FLAG, DESCENDENTS, ALL).
„The writing process for recording our new album „Persona Non Grata“ was simply awesome. The music and lyrical content came together so organically in such a short amount of time given that our last record „Broadcasting To The Nations“ only came out a year ago. Mike, Dan, Chris, and I put our hearts into this one and we are all extremely proud of the work we were able to do as a collective. The music and sound are classic AUTHORITY ZERO but with a slightly revised approach. For the fans as well as ourselves we strive to give each record its own individual character and life.” Said DeVore.
