Pierwsze wznowienie trzeciego albumu Channel 3 Last Time I Drank, pierwotnie wydanego w 1985 roku. Z jednej strony był syreni śpiew hair metalu i college rocka, wzywający do złagodzenia brzmienia i potencjalnego zdobycia w końcu trochę rozgłosu.
First ever reissue of Channel 3’s 3rd LP Last Time I Drank, originally released 1985. The mid-80’s were a chaotic time for any punk group who were a few albums deep into their career. On one side you had the siren song of hair metal and college rock, calling you to soften your sound and potentially finally get some airplay. On the other stood the orthodoxy of hardcore and thrash, declaring any sense of melody or songwriting tired and passe. As tempting as it would be to capitulate to convention, certain groups stood their ground, forging a more unique path, such as fellow Southern Californian icons X and Social Distortion, or British veterans like UK Subs and GBH. This is the rare caste Channel 3 found themselves in 1985; combining Americana, a 70’s glam punk sneer and fleshed out 80’s production to create an evolution on their melodic punk sound that retains the original spirit of the group’s earlier works. Last Time I Drank… is an incredibly accomplished album, worthy of revisiting, which is what this reissue hopes to facilitate.
