The Cockney Rejects, founded in East London in 1979 and still active today, are considered one of the most influential bands in the British punk and Oi! scene. With their raw sound, which reflected the harshness of the working-class environment, and their direct, outspoken style, they quickly won the hearts of fans. They were pioneers of the Oi! movement, which linked punk with the everyday struggles of the working class, and used their lyrics to stand up for young people on the streets of London. Their best-known songs such as “Flares n Slippers” and “The Greatest Cockney Rip Off” are anthems for generations of punks and soccer fans alike. The band also made a name for themselves through their close association with soccer, particularly West Ham United. Their raw, unpolished sound and authentic attitude have made them legends in British punk history. Now Cadiz are re-releasing their legendary album “Greatest Hits Vol.1” as a limited edition LP on yellow vinyl – freshly remastered by Micky Geggus, the band’s guitarist. With 14 energetic tracks, this album brings back the spirit of the band and is a must for all lovers of honest, unadulterated punk rock!
