Płyta „To A Nation of Animal Lovers” z udziałem Steve’a Ignoranta, frontmana CRASS, została pierwotnie nagrana i zmiksowana w Southern Studios w północnym Londynie w kwietniu 1983 roku.

Dzięki „To A Nation of Animals” zespół Conflict ugruntował swoją pozycję na czele ruchu na rzecz praw zwierząt na początku lat osiemdziesiątych.

„To a Nation of Animal Lovers” to legendarny, brutalny album anarcho-punkowy. Występuje na nim Steve Ignorant z zespołu CRASS i porusza tematy znęcania się nad zwierzętami. Album wykorzystuje intensywny punk i ostre teksty, domagając się zaprzestania testów na zwierzętach i okrucieństwa wobec nich.

Kilka lat temu, po śmierci Johna Lodera, oryginalne taśmy wielościeżkowe zostały zwrócone zespołowi. Colin i Gav King (gitarzysta Conflict z ostatnich 18 lat) wysłali je do „wypalenia” i digitalizacji z zamiarem zremiksowania ich po ukończeniu i wydaniu nowego albumu.

Niestety, Colin zmarł, zanim to nastąpiło, ale Gav King kontynuował pracę nad remiksowaniem utworów nagranych 43 lata wcześniej.

W pudełku znalazły się oryginalne miksy na taśmie ¼ cala, więc wieloletni przyjaciel Colina, Sid Truelove (Rubella Ballet), zgodził się je zremasterować.
Odkryto również taśmę z alternatywnymi miksami, wcześniej niepublikowanymi, które są teraz dostępne tutaj.

Featuring CRASS frontman, Steve Ignorant, ‘To A Nation of Animal Lovers’ was originally recorded and mixed at Southern Studios, North London in April 1983.

With ‘To A Nation of Animals’, Conflict cemented their standing at the forefront of the animal rights movement in the early eighties.

‘To a Nation of Animal Lovers’ is a legendary, brutal anarcho-punk record. It features Steve Ignorant from the band CRASS and targets animal abuse. It uses intense punk and fierce lyrics to demand an end to animal testing and cruelty.

A few years ago following the passing of John Loder, the original multi track tapes were returned to the band. Colin and Gav King (Conflict guitarist of the past 18 years) sent the tapes off to be ‘baked’ and digitised with the intent of remixing them once their new album was complete and released.

Unfortunately Colin passed away before that could happen but Gav King continued with the task of remixing the tracks that were recorded 43 years earlier.

Included in the box were the original mixes on ¼ inch tape so Colin’s lifelong close mate, Sid Truelove (Rubella Ballet), agreed to remaster them.
A tape of alternative mixdowns, previously unheard, was also discovered and are now available on here too.

Side A has the original 3 tracks fully remixed and mastered by Gav King as well as an alternative ‘Decomposing Dub’ mix of ‘Meat Still Means Murder!’.
Side B has the 3 original tracks remastered by Sid Truelove as well as 3 early mixes previously unheard.

Includes A2 poster of the original hard hitting artwork.
