Nowy album akustycznego wcielenia załogi Swingin Utters. Old schoolowy punk rok, psychodeliczny pop lat 60-tych, country, a wszystko w ciuchach tradycyjnego irlandzkiego folku. 15 kawałków z których trudno wybrać najlepszy, bo wszystkie są świetne. W jednym kawałku gościnnie pojawił się Spider Stacy z Pogues! (2005)
ilthy Thieving Bastards have returned after a four year hiatus from recording, with a new full length album “My Pappy Was A Pistol”. Featuring members of the Swingin’ Utters and Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, the Bastards’ new record runs the gamut stylistically between old-school punk rock, traditional country, folk & irish music, and 60’s psychedelic pop. Following a run of successful Northern and Southern California shows in the spring of ‘05 featuring Spider Stacy from The Pogues, the Bastards invited Stacy into the recording studio to record vocals and Tin Whistle for the album. Their sound is almost un-categorizable; but their blend of traditional country/folk and pop music, infused with the punk rock sensibility they’ve honed for 15+ years in the Swingin’ Utters, seems to appeal to people of all ages. There is something in FTB’s music for everyone, from punk rockers to country and folksters.
