Like Chumbawamba, Interrobang have a policy of creating performances rather than gigs, and each release is completely different to the previous one. Fusing breakbeats, punk rock, loop addled guitars and vocal rants, this album is a magnificent follow up to 2018’s self titled debut.

Zajęło im to dziesięć lat, ale oto są z nowym albumem „Rethink Everything”. Interrobang nie tylko nagrali nową płytę, ale zasadniczo przebudowali silnik i fundamentalnie przemyślali, jak brzmi pilność.
Ten album to zdecydowane odejście od ich poprzedniego, konfrontacyjnego brzmienia zdominowanego przez gitary. To swego rodzaju reinterpretacja w kierunku czegoś bardziej rytmicznego i napędzającego. W centrum tej zmiany znajduje się Griff, którego pełne wykorzystanie syntezatorów, samplerów, loopów i elektronicznej produkcji przekształciło Interrobang w coś bardziej rytmicznego, wyraźnie tanecznego.
Na tym nowym tle Dunstan Bruce dostarcza teksty, które pozostają bezkompromisowe jak zawsze. Dla Bruce’a album pozostaje nieustannym pytaniem o tożsamość, znaczenie i odpowiedzialność. Kiedyś plasujący się na krawędzi kulturowego niepokoju, teraz pisze z perspektywy sprzeczności: gniewny, ale refleksyjny, upolityczniony, a zarazem samokrytyczny, boleśnie świadomy zarówno własnej historii, jak i własnych ograniczeń. Teksty oscylują między manifestem, wyznaniem a czarnym humorem, przekazywane nie jako wykłady, lecz jako wyzwania. Zmiana brzmienia nie łagodzi przekazu, lecz go wyostrza.
Album uchwyca moment osobistego, politycznego i kulturowego kryzysu. Bruce i Griff wspólnie odrzucają pogląd, że muzyka polityczna musi być surowa, wartościowa lub pozbawiona radości. Przyjemność staje się tu paliwem. To muzyka, która rozumie, że pilna potrzeba nie musi krzyczeć. Jest natarczywa, a zarazem kusząca. Album wielokrotnie powraca do idei, że rewolucja to nie pojedynczy moment, ale proces. Sztuka jest ujęta nie jako komentarz, lecz jako działanie; kreatywność jako narzędzie do agitacji, propagowania i wzmacniania. Płyta przyznaje, że mówienie ma swoją cenę, ale milczenie będzie nas kosztować więcej. Przez cały czas słychać nacisk na to, że próbowanie wciąż ma znaczenie, a sam wysiłek jest formą oporu. Jest tu wściekłość, ale także pokora, humor i odmowa wycofania się, odmowa rezygnacji z przyjemności jako straty ubocznej i buntownicza odmowa cichego odejścia.

It’s taken them ten years but here they are with their new album Rethink Everything. Interrobang haven’t just made a new record they’ve basically rewired the engine and fundamentally rethought how urgency sounds.
This record marks a decisive move away from their previous guitar-led confrontational sound. It’s a reinvention of sorts toward something more rhythmic and propulsive. At the heart of that shift is Griff, whose full embrace of synths, samplers, loops and electronic production has reshaped Interrobang into something groovier, more unmistakably dance-driven.
Against this new backdrop, Dunstan Bruce delivers lyrics that remain as uncompromising as ever. For Bruce, the album remains a restless interrogation of identity, relevance and responsibility. Once positioned at the sharp edge of cultural agitation, he now writes from within contradiction: angry but reflective, politicised yet self-critical, painfully aware of both his own history and his own limits. Lyrics oscillate between manifesto, confession and dark humour, delivered not as lectures, but as challenges. The shift in sound doesn’t soften the message; it sharpens it.
The album captures a moment of personal, political and cultural emergency. Together, Bruce and Griff reject the idea that political music must be po-faced, worthy or joyless. Pleasure becomes fuel here. This is music that understands that urgency doesn’t have to shout. It’s insistent yet alluring. Rhythm becomes rhetoric and the dancefloor becomes a place of resistance, connection and rejuvenation. The philosophy underpinning the album is simple and unapologetic: if you can’t dance to it, it’s not our revolution.
The album repeatedly returns to the idea that revolution is not a single moment but a process. Art is framed not as commentary but as action; creativity as a tool to agitate, advocate and amplify. Speaking out has a cost, the record acknowledges but silence will cost us more. Throughout, there is an insistence that trying still matters and that effort itself is a form of resistance. There is rage here, but also humility, humour and a refusal to disengage, a refusal to surrender pleasure as collateral damage and a defiant refusal to go quietly.
