RATOS DE PORAO („Basement Rats”) pochodzą z Sao Paulo w Brazylii, gdzie od prawie dwudziestu lat stanowią filar społeczności punk/hardcore! W 1983 roku RDP wydał jeden z pierwszych południowoamerykańskich albumów hardcorowych, wybuchowy „Crucificados Pelo Sistema”. Zespół, będący wieloletnimi przyjaciółmi rodaków z Sepultury, utrzymuje również bliskie relacje z regionalną społecznością metalową. Muzyka RDP zaczęła odzwierciedlać ten sojusz po 1987 roku, ewoluując w wczesną hybrydę metalu i hardcore’u.

RATOS DE PORAO („Basement Rats”) hail from Sao Paolo, Brazil where they have been a cornerstone of the punk/hardcore community for almost twenty years! In 1983, RDP released one of the first South American hard core albums, the explosive Crucificados Pelo Sistema. Long standing friends of countrymen SEPULTURA, the band also maintains close ties to the region’s metal community. RDP’s music began to reflect this alliance after 1987, evolving into an early hybrid of metal and hardcore.
