TEXAS IS THE REASON zatytułowana po prostu TX30 Special Edition 12” EP jest pierwszym z trzech nadchodzących wydawnictw, które upamiętniają 30. rocznicę zespołu i jego przełomowego albumu, Do You Know Who You Are?. „Something to Forget (Version II)” znalazł się następnie na Do You Know Who You Are? z 1996 roku z bardziej dopracowaną produkcją, dzięki J. Robbinsowi (JAWBOX), który wyprodukował album. Każde wydawnictwo będzie zawierało rozszerzoną oprawę graficzną i książeczki z nigdy wcześniej niepublikowanymi zdjęciami, ulotkami i innymi materiałami opowiadającymi historię zespołu. Do trzech wydawnictw dołączą specjalnie zaprojektowane paski obi, stworzone z myślą o stworzeniu spójnego wizualnie zestawu.

They came from some of the most popular, if not polarizing hardcore bands of the early ’90s (SHELTER, 108, RESSURECTION), but by the time TEXAS IS THE REASON formed in 1994, a new aesthetic crystallized almost instantly and reduced its members’ previous efforts to history. Indeed, it was only a year later, when Revelation Records released the band’s self-titled EP— their name derived from a lyric in the MISFITS song “Bullet”— that TEXAS IS THE REASON were already headlining their own tours in America and well on their way to defining a new moment in post-punk. TEXAS IS THE REASON’s self-titled TX30 Special Edition 12” EP is the first of three upcoming releases that mark the 30th anniversary of the band and its landmark album, Do You Know Who You Are?. It includes the bonus track “Something to Forget (Version I)” which was originally released in 1995 on a limited split 7” with SAMUEL. “Something to Forget (Version II)” went on to be included on 1996’s Do You Know Who You Are? with a more polished production, thanks to J. Robbins (JAWBOX) producing the album. These TX30 Special Edition pressings will chart the band’s three chronological stages across three intentionally-prepared 12-inch records—from their earliest recordings to their debut album to the band’s final three songs, written for and originally conceived as the beginning of a second album that was never completed before their 1997 breakup. Each release will include expanded art and booklets featuring never-before-seen photos, flyers, and other means of telling the band’s story. The three releases will be joined by specially designed obi strips, devised to create a visually cohesive set.

1. If It’s Here When We Get Back It’s Ours
2. Something To Forget (Version 1) (bonus track)
3. Dressing Cold
4. Antique
