Zespół Dusters (znany również jako The Capitol City Dusters) powstał w 1996 roku z inicjatywy Aleca Bourgeois (byłego członka Severin) i Bena Azzary (byłego członka Junction, Delta 72). Zespół grał z kilkoma basistami, zanim Jesse Quitslund (ex-Vile Cherubs) na dobre zapewnił sobie pozycję w 1998 roku.
Wytwórnia Aleca, Superbad Records, wydała trzy z czterech wydawnictw The Dusters, w tym 10-calowy split z The Most Secret Method oraz ich pierwszy długogrający album „Simplicity”, wszystkie we współpracy z Dischord Records. The Dusters byli sami rezerwowani i samodzielnie zarządzani, a także intensywnie koncertowali w USA i Europie.
Podczas swojej pierwszej europejskiej trasy koncertowej w 1999 roku The Dusters byli parą z barcelońskim zespołem Aina, z którym wydali split singla. Oba zespoły zaprzyjaźniły się i w 2002 roku, po wydaniu drugiego albumu The Dusters, „Rock Creek”, wspólnie koncertowały w Stanach Zjednoczonych i Hiszpanii. Zespół rozpadł się w 2003 roku.

The Dusters (also known as The Capitol City Dusters) were formed in 1996 by Alec Bourgeois (ex-Severin) and Ben Azzara (ex-Junction, Delta 72). The band played with several bass players before Jesse Quitslund (ex-Vile Cherubs) locked down the position for good in 1998.
Alec’s label, Superbad Records, released three of The Dusters four releases, including a 10″ split with The Most Secret Method and their first full-length, „Simplicity,” all in conjunction with Dischord Records. The Dusters were self-booked and self-managed, and they toured extensively in the USA and in Europe.
On their first European tour in 1999 The Dusters were paired with Barcelona band, Aina, with whom they released a split single. The two bands became friends and toured the United States and Spain together in 2002 after the release of the Duster’s second album, „Rock Creek.” The Dusters broke up in 2003.
