Album „State of the Union” wytwórni Dischord Records został pierwotnie wydany w 1989 roku i stał się kultowym klasykiem. Dlatego powraca teraz w zremasterowanej wersji z odświeżoną oprawą graficzną, przenosząc czytelnika w surową energię i różnorodność waszyngtońskiej sceny punkowej końca lat 80. Dischord Records’ State of the Union was originally released in 1989 and became a minor cult classic. That’s why it now returns remastered with updated artwork and it immediately takes you back to the raw energy and diversity of the late-’80s Washington, D.C. punk scene. Featuring key acts like Fugazi, Scream, Ignition, Soulside, Fire Party and Shudder to Think alongside overlooked gems such as Christ on a Crutch and Red Emma, the 16-track compilation spans dub-infused punk, politically charged hardcore and experimental post-punk. It has all been compiled by Mark Andersen and originally raised funds for the ACLU and Community for Creative Non-Violence. This reissue continues that spirit with proceeds supporting We Are Family.
